A The beginning of chapter 14 found it strange that they added in the part about reading to Jim about the kings and queens and other people of royalty. I just couldn't see why it impacted the story at all, but after a while i thought maybe it was just to add more depth to Jim's character. I did still have a hard time reading Jim's dialogue but i was able to decode it after a bit of rereading.
In chapter 15 I was able to actually get into the book a bit. I really liked Huck's whole adventure down the river in search for the raft and Jim. The amount of detail and imagery in this section made me feel like i was watching it from above and it made that chapter less painful to read. When Huck finally found Jim and the boat i couldn't help but smile at the fact that Jim was so easy to fool. I felt a little bad for Jim due to the fact that Huck made a fool out of him but it added to the story line.
In chapter 16 when Jim is getting all excited about being free i found it a bit shocking that Huck was thinking of going back on his word. But when they found Mr.Parker and the other man that were going to take Jim Huck covered and protected him i found it very humble. If i had been in his shoes i would never had been able to come up with a story like the small pox to keep them away. But that luck didn't last long. First they lost their was to Cairo not knowing if they had past it or not. Then the lost their canoe and had no way to get one back till they found a town. and then finally at the end of the chapter then were ran over by a steam boat.
